it's about that time

We had picked out our invitations months ago, but we are now just beginning to put them all together!

Last night I sat in front of the tv and decided to tie on the piece of ribbon onto each card. A very tedious process!
5 hours, 250 invitations later- step 1 is complete!!

for the bridemaids

i was on the martha stewart website looking for wedding ideas and i came across the bridesmaid fashion card. it's a DIY kinda project that you can download from her website. a nice way to tell your bridesmaids what dress, shoes and jewelry they have to wear on a convenient card with color swatch and everything.

... i think my MOH/bridesmaids enjoyed them =)

marc and i finally found someone to do our wedding cake. she works from her home, but her cakes are very delicious. we've seen her work and they all look incredible. marc's friend recommended her to us and i am so glad we gave her a shot. we mailed her our deposit and we can now check that off our list! whoohoo!



now my only question is... real flowers? or candied flowers? hmm...

Class of '09

Spent the weekend in columbia, south carolina to attend the graduation of my cousin jessamine. it was a great ceremony! and i am extremely proud of her =)

i just love love love spending time with family! every time we meet up with each other it definitely feels as though not a second has gone by. they are the greatest bunch you'll ever meet!

How we spent our 8hrs on a saturday...

Today marc and I had to attend a pre-marital class. It was 8hrs long and very well spent.

29?!?!?

my birthday has arrived! i can't believe next year i'll be 30! shessh.

Went up to Maryland/DC to celebrate.

-Carole & Patrick took us to CoCo Sala for dinner

-Got a free birthday cupcake from Cake Love

- Drove to Baltimore to have breakfast at Blue Moon Cafe- Famous for thier Captain Crunch coated Frech toast! (so good The Food Network did a story on it!)
- Lakers won game 7 to make it to the second round Nba Finals!

great weekend. can't wait to see what we do next year!

For a great cause.

Walked for 5 miles for the March-Of-Dimes.

It was a great day for a marathon down at Oceanfront.

-up at 6 to get a head start
-70 degrees and sunny

- met up with the group on the front lawn

- walk began at 9am

-ended the walk at 12p with free Wendys lunch at the finish line (yum)

To celebrate a great cause, i went out for sushi with marc, carole and patrick.

The IRS found a mistake on my taxes filed three weeks ago, and they're giving me more money back on my refund.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday:

1. Impatient-me for 8hrs waiting for marc to get off work
2. Date night- dinner with bizz marc e! fun!

3. Mission impossible III -while we stayed up late waiting for Carole and Patrick to arrive

4. Reeses peanut butter eggs-ate a ton as if it were the first time i've had them

Saturday:

1. Wedding Flowers- excited that the total was $500.00 cheaper than what we estimated

2. Centerpieces- Thankful steve and his wife offered them to marc and i at no cost at all

3. Trio Sampler for 3- lunch with marc and sheryl

4. $450 wedding cake- you get what you pay for...yuck!

5. Sugar plum bakery-looks delicious! appointment set for May 2nd

6. Best Man- in town till the 18th, fun visit with andrew and his fam

7. Chicken wings-drinks and a good time at hooters with marc, andrew, ruben and sheryl

8. Pineapple juice with crown royal- on the rocks... everyone gave up soda for lent and ruben got creative.

9. 1 being Amy Winehouse, 10 being Jessica Alba- the guys channel surfing, looking for a 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10.

10. 212 area code-ruben determined to find out where the calls are coming from

11. taco bell/wendy's request- from carole and pat... ended up eating channelos.

Sunday:

1. 7-11 coffee- gave up starbucks for lent... sorry carole! ha

2. groceries- at 10am with carole and mom

3. Shopping for underwear- ran into patrick, auntie and mr kiger at the exchange
4. turkey burgers- lunch with carole and mom

5. "go celtics"- what the waiter told me after he saw me in my LA Lakers shirt. $0.00* tip left after he made that comment!! sucka!

6. Condo Community- towne square and the lexington. showed mom and carole the two neighborhoods that marc and i are interested in

7. W- for the lakers!

8. Surf and Turf- family dinner. forced marc to eat brussel sprouts!

9. lemon-cupcakes for dessert! yum! carole bet pat $50 to eat his cupcake dipped in soy sauce. he did... yuck!

10. stomach flu-poor meeko! nasty!

Monday:

1. portia de rossi- caroled wanted to watch her interview on ellen. funny!

2. internet- all morning just the two us lounging being lazy on our laptops

3. brown/black- colored hair because i couldn't stand heat damaged hair.

4. sushi- carole and marc treated the family for dinner. thanks!

5. house hunting- in a packed car, driving around salem/princess anne/independence area after dinner

6. mall-carole had to go shopping before she heads back to md

7. oompa loompa- watched dancing with the stars and thats what they called shawn johnson! funny!

Tuesday:

1. Handsome - Gavin in his "i''m a McCutie" st. patty's day outfit!

2. bags packed-carole and meeko headed back to MD.

3. impatience- again... me waiting hours for bizzmarce to get off work.

5 Day weekend came and gone! Tomorrow is Wednesday which means it's back to work. It has literally rained all 5 days i've been off. But as you can see that didn't stop me.

weekend starts today

it was a long drive home after an uneventful 12 hour shift at work. Because of my lovely work hours i do not get to see the sun rise or fall, but it's okay... i only have to be there 3 days a week and if planned correctly i can get a 5-day weekend. So lucky me, my weekend starts today and i don't have to be back until wednesday!

So far, it is off to a great start. Relaxing at home watching the Lakers vs Spurs game and then spending the rest of the night reading. Unfortunately, marc is at home not feeling well so i'll just have to see him tomorrow.

75 degrees, sunny and lots of cake!

Perfect weekend weather to get things accomplished!




Saturday Marc and I went to two bakeries that specialized in wedding cakes. Who knew that choosing a cake was so intense! There were so many flavor cakes, fillings, and icing to choose from.


The first baker gave us sample after sample after sample and they all tasted so good! By the time we went to the second bakery Marc and I were sick of cake and frosting!


Sure enough the second baker wanted us to sample her cakes and icing as well. Marc and I didn't want to insult her by not trying it so we forced ourselves to eat more cake!! Needless to say there will be no more cake tastings for a long time!


Suffering from a sugar coma, marc and i also met up with the Jeff and Nicole from Calma photography. They had our CD and engagement prints that we had ordered!! Yay! and of course we loved how they all turned out.


We ran all around town yesterday and plan on running around some more today! Marc is still trying to recover from his 101.7 temp from friday, but he's still hanging in there! what a trooper!

Show Time!

You may have read Marc's post about our engagement session (2/21/09), well they are in!

This past weekend, Marc and I had the chance to look at all the proofs from our engagement session at Downtown Norfolk, VA and they turned out great! It took four of us, Marc, Carole, Patrick, and me, hours to choose which pictures to get. Marc and I made our decision on what pictures to keep and we can't wait to share them with you!

Jeff and his wife Nicole from Calma Photography made the photo shoot a wonderful experience! Of course we were nervous at first because neither Marc nor I have ever done a photo shoot, but we became more comfortable as they day went on. Both are a great team to work with. They definitely made us feel comfortable and made the entire day so much fun . We can't wait 'til they shoot our wedding day! I'm sure it will be another great experience!

If anyone is in need of a photographer, we highly recommend them!!!!

Back to planning

i got so much accomplished after the engagement that i haven't really had to do anything for the past 4 weeks. that's about to change...

march is fast approaching and that means it's back to wedding planning.

next on the to do list:

• Flowers
• Cake
• Finalizing Wedding Party
• Attend pre-marital class at church
• Begin gift registry

Not too long of a list, but potentially long enough to cause stress. luckily bizzmarce loves to help.

Fat Tuesday today.... Ash Wednesday tomorrow

This will be my last starbucks drink for 40 days and 40 nights courtesy of bizzMARCe.

Along with sbux I will give up red meat and pork. I hope lent goes by quick!

Graveyard Shift

tonight i will spend my night drinking cup after cup of Strong, hopefully good, cups of coffee to keep me awake.

this is one work shift i just can't get my body used too.

...at least it will be spent with some adorable little babies!!

Update: it took 2 Reese peanut buttercup, 1 kit kat, Sbux venti black coffee, and a bag of Doritos to keep me awake for all 12 hours. Whatever works...
