We celebrated by having dinner at the cheesecake factory and got our cheesecake desserts for 1/2 off.
I chose the red velvet cheesecake! yum!
...maybe next year, i'll have carole teach me how to bake one from scratch.

Awesome!
The local radio station was giving away concert tickets during their morning show, so when marc and i knew the answers to today's questions,we thought we would test our luck and see if we could win. While he called... and called... and called... and called, i simply texted in my answer. less then a minute after i sent in my text, i get a call. The number didn't look familiar, but i noticed that the last 4 digits happened to be the the radio station channel we were listening to. Hmm... did we just win?!?! I gave the phone to marc to answer and sure enough we were on the phone with the DJ's of Z104.
we won 4 tickets to the American Idol Live concert!! I've never won anything before, so this was pretty cool!
looks like we're going to a concert this weekend! yay!

Camping in OBX
we decided to do a one day camping trip at the Outerbanks. we probably chose the hottest day of the summer, but we made the best of it. we spent the entire day at the beach swimming, throwing around the football, building sand mermaids, and climbing up sand dunes. and when we weren't on the beach, we were at the camp site grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. We even built a bonfire on the beach at night - we had to make s'mores! it was a fun weekend, but next time we won't plan it on such a hot day!

Better than Krispy Kreme...
...Almost! But so darn close!
They recently opened The Fractured Prune in downtown Silver Spring so Carole and Pat had to take us! And are we glad they did!
This doughnut shop is nothing like Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. They are hand-dipped homemade donuts that have unique flavors. They are mouth watering delicious! We'll definitely go back! Yum!

"1-2-3 Strikes you're out!"
This past weekend we made our way up to DC to watch the Nationals play against the Giants. The weather was great! Our seats were awesome! And we had a great time. I got to participate in the largest stadium "wave" i've ever seen! Unfortunately, the Nationals ended up losing the game. Oh well... better luck next time.
Yum!! We had to get peanuts, hot dogs and then some!
